Marriage and Honour

Today, I watched something that made me think about a topic near and dear to my heart: Our nation's troops and veterans and the ladies who have "loved" them.

At this point, one might wonder why I put quotes around loved but there is a rhyme to my reason.

What I was watching earlier today was a story about a double amputee vet who after being injured and medically discharged from the military, had his wife leave him.

Morning Inspiration from Steve Harvey

   

   Trying to be the best employee I can be, I attempted to get some work done on my vacation. I had to take a picture because I am just silly that way, plus this was an AWESOME cup of coffee.

   Now that work is done I can officially begin my vacation. It was a peaceful and traffic free journey this morning to Delaware, and if you don't know, I love my journeys, my men, and my life DRAMA FREE, so we're off to a good start. I was listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show (as I always do in the mornings) and this morning was quite inspirational.

Families come in all shapes and sizes

I had to share this one today because I was touched by what they had to share. Even though my child is biologically mine, I still get the questions and the looks because he looks of a different race from mine.

Holding myself back?

Often when I set out to do something new, or pursue something I've always been or wanted to be passionate about I get this block. Often it starts in the middle of my chest and works its way up my throat making it hard to breathe or speak. Then I get this feeling like what if I make a fool of myself or don't succeed, "they" are all waiting to watch me fial and "they" don't care if I succeed.

I don't know why this happens, but it even gets to the point where when I finally find the time to write, and work on all the ideas that have been swimming around in my head just waiting to be put into words to be publish, I draw a blank...

I just saw this article on madamenoire.com and I must say I had to click on it right away. I was actually surprised to see this hadn't been written before.

Why?

Well for me, India has always been an inspiration for me. Any time I am low, this woman's soulful voice and thoughtful lyrics help me regain my strength. She speaks to my soul. Everything I am feeling in my heart, mind, and soul, this woman has put to song, and no matter where I am in life this woman's music is always universally applicable to any given situation. I love her and if you've never given her a listen, you  ought to.
